AGRIPRENEURS AND AGRIBUSINESS MODELS
Unlocking the Promise of YOUTH EMPLOYMENT in Agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa —Case Studies from Uganda
by UMAR I. KAMARAH
This study provides examples of successful youth-led enterprises in agriculture and agribusiness. It aims to encourage young people to consider the agriculture sector as one of the best options for self[1]employment, thereby combating high youth unemployment. Documented models have been compiled to inform policymakers and development partners on how to assist young people to become successful agro-entrepreneurs, create jobs, move into the fast-growing agribusinesses roles, take advantage of other sustainable rural economic opportunities, and improve incomes by raising productivity.
